Liverpool Goalkeeper Alisson Becker Hits Out At Premier League Officials After West Ham Decision

Alisson Becker has sent a message to Premier League officials after being left disappointed with a decision during Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham last weekend.

Alisson thought he was fouled in the fourth minute of the match amid pressure at a corner from Hammers duo Angelo Ogbonna and Michail Antonio, before the Brazilian goalkeeper inadvertently punched the ball into his own net.

After on-field referee Craig Pawson saw no infringement, VAR checked for any foul play before upholding the decision, much to the amazement of the Brazil international.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hit out at the call to award the goal, questioning ‘how can

And now Alisson has taken to social media to aim a sly dig at the officials, by posting an image of him claiming a corner during his time away with Brazil.

When you can use your hands, the job it’s not so hard,’ he said.

Former Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher hit out at Alisson’s performance against the impressive Hammers, believing he had a role to play in all three of the goals they conceded.

When watching a replay of Pablo Fornals’ 67th-minute strike, Carragher said: ‘He’s got to save it. He should have done better on all three goals, no doubt about that.

‘But that’s something Liverpool have done for a while and me being in that position, I can’t quite get my head around it. And you look at their defensive record and it’s absolutely fantastic.

‘But I just think that when you’re in those positions I don’t know what you gain from holding the line.

‘Yes, [Joel] Matip’s gone towards the ball but even Virgil van Dijk sort of holds the line. The only two things that can happen there: you either catch them offside or they run through at goal and for me that’s not a fair fight.’
