The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has issued a strong warning to men of the Nigerian Army and police operating in the South-East of Nigeria

Kanu, in a post on his Twitter’s handle on Sunday, said there will be vengeance for any ‘Biafran’ killed on the order of either commanders in the army or the police.

“If you’re commander of troops in the Nigerian army or police, hear this: That you’re wearing a uniform & adorning a rank does not make you invincible. If any #Biafran is killed on your orders, you will be hunted & punished, sooner than later. We’re taking stock & bidding our time,” the firebrand IPOB leader tweeted.

PlatinumPost reports that there have been regular violent confrontations between IPOB-backed Eastern Security Network (ESN) and security forces in recent times.

The security forces accused the militant wing of IPOB of waging attacks on security facilities and engaging in targeting killing of their personnel but the ESN said it only against killer Fulani herdsmen operating in the South-East zone.

IPOB also accused the military and the police of killing innocent people under the guise of clamping down on its members.

The IPOB leader, had while reacting to a report on an alleged shoot-at-sight order by army commander  on Saturday, said the Igbos are fully ready to resist ‘Fulani forces’.
