Finally, Andy Uba Ties The Knot With Fomer House Of Reps Member, Nnenna Ukeje After Several Years Of Secret Romance

Spread the love

After many years of strident denial, Senator Andy Uba has finally made Nnenna Ukeje, a former Member of the House of Representatives, his legally wedded wife. Sources said the former legislators decided to put a ring on it secretly. Only a few family members were invited to the solemnization of the decade-long relationship recently. And they have been living together happily ever after with their child.

A three-term legislator, Nnenna, whose mother is a retired High Court Judge, was first elected in 2007 as the Representative for Bende Federal Constituency, Abia State, and she served as the House committee chairman on Foreign Affairs.

Brilliant and beautiful, Nnenna would later catch the eye of a colleague in the hallowed chambers with whom they also enjoyed a robust relationship before Senator Andy Uba reportedly came into the picture and swept her off her feet. Nnenna’s fourth bid for the House was halted after losing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election to a young businessman, Chima Anyaso.

Her paramour, Dr Uba, was a U.S-based medical doctor who returned home to serve as the powerful Special Assistant on Special Duties and Domestic Affairs to President Olusegun Obasanjo. In 2007, Andy contested for the governorship of Anambra State and won but was ousted after 17days due to a court ruling that Peter Obi, earlier sworn in as governor after the ouster of Governor Chris Ngige, was the substantive governor. Andy returned in 2010 on the claims of being a governor-in-waiting but was overruled by the court again. Andy would later win the Anambra South Senatorial seat in 2011 and re-elected in 2015.

In the build-up to the 2015 general elections, the Uba family unanimously agreed that Andy should vacate the Senate seat for his younger brother, the controversial Chris Uba, while he contested for the governorship election a year earlier. Andy reportedly agreed, but after losing out at the primaries, he breached the family agreement and insisted on vying for the Senate seat.

Despite entreaties by senior family members to respect the earlier agreement, Andy stood his ground, which led to a division within the family. Chris went ahead to fly the PDP flag in the senatorial election while Andy represented the APC. They both lost the election to Ifeanyi Ubah, the rambunctious millionaire owner of Capital Oil who contested the election on the platform of the virtually unknown Young Progressive Party, YPP.
With both husband and wife losing their elections, it only made sense for them not to lose their love for each other. Andy is still gearing up to contest for the governorship election of Anambra State scheduled for November 2021.

But wait a minute, if by chance Andy wins the election, who becomes his First Lady? Would it be Gloria Obiageli, his first wife? Or the Abuja based Pastor Faith Vedelago that allegedly delivered a baby for him around 2008? Perhaps he is likely to consider Nnenna who understands the political terrain like the back of her palm and has the visage, vivacity and vibrancy of a First Lady. Fingers remain crossed.
