2023: Wike Hits Atiku Hard, Says ‘Nigerians Don’t Need Man Saying Don’t Vote Yoruba Or Igbo’

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has slammed the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Monday.
Wike said Nigerians should not vote for a sectional leader in the 2023 presidential election.
According to him, Nigeria does not need a man who asked electorates not to vote for a Yoruba or Igbo man.
He spoke while lashing out at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, over his recent comment.
Atiku said northerners needed to vote for him rather than a Yoruba or Igbo candidate because he’s a Pan-Nigerian with a northern extraction.
Atiku made the remark in October during an interactive session with Arewa Joint Committee held in Kaduna State.
However, speaking at a road commissioning in Emohua area of Rivers State, Wike also described the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso as a man of integrity.
Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, has made a promise to Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Wike, on Monday promised Kwankwaso the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, some logistic support for his campaign in the state.
Wike made the promise during the inauguration of the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in the Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
According to Wike, the former governor of Kano State has what it takes to be president of the country.
He said: “You are a man of integrity, it is unfortunate that we are not in the same party but God will help at appropriate time. These are the kind of people that should be talking about leadership of the country. I want to tell you that if you are coming for a campaign here, I will give you the logistic support”.
DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS recalls that the Rivers Governor had on Thursday, made the same promise to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
According to Wike: “It is not enough to say don’t vote for an Igbo man or Yoruba man, but what we need is to vote for you who will lead Nigeria to development. Kwankwaso is a man of integrity.”
