A housewife identified simply as Atika has allegedly stabbed her husband to death over his second wife in Nasarawa State.  The incident happened at Angwa Yerima in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area of the state on Saturday night, February 26.  It was gathered that the deceased, Ibrahim Ahmad Salihu (Mallam Iro) a 37-year-old mechanic used to spend two nights with each of his two wives on a rotational basis and had the habit of bidding farewell to any of them anytime he was leaving for the other’s room. BREAKING: FIFA Bans All International Games In Russia

World football’s governing body FIFA has decided that no international competition shall be played in Russia, with home matches being played on neutral territory and without spectators. FIFA disclosed its decision in a statement on Sunday, following international condemnation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It also said Russia would have to compete in international football under the name “Football Union of Russia (RFU)”. “No flag or anthem of Russia will be used in matches where teams from the Football Union of Russia participate,” FIFA added. There have been calls for Russia’s men’s team to be barred from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November and December. Some Nigerians in Abuja this morning staged a protest in front of the Russian Embassy in Abuja over the recent invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops. Carrying different placards, the protesters in their numbers chanted songs saying “Putin, let there be peace”, “We are parents of Nigerians trapped in Ukraine”. They also wore T-shirts with the emblem “Stop the war”. The protesters, which include parents, friends, and loved ones of stranded and fleeing Nigerians in Ukraine, lamented the horrific reports they’ve been receiving about their loved ones/wards being prevented from fleeing Ukraine to other countries such as Hungary, Poland and others.
