EFCC Detains Medview Airline Managing Director, Bankole Over Hajj Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken into custody the Managing Director of Medview Airline, Mr Muneer Bankole.He was reportedly detained this afternoon at the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja. A source familiar with case disclosed that Bankole, who arrived the EFCC complex at 11:00am on Monday, January 31, 2022, was invited by the anti-graft agency over a case of alleged diversion of 50 per cent of funds paid to him by the National Hajj Commission, and additional $900,000 for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019.He allegedly received the funds as mobilisation but did not execute the contract.When contacted, EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest.

A suspected ritualist arrested in Ondo State has said that his former boss promised him N30m to procure and deliver human parts to a buyer in Lagos.  The 35-year-old suspect, Timothy Odeniyi, was arrested by officials of the Ondo state security outfit codenamed Amotekun, for being in possession of human parts. Odeniyi, a truck driver was arrested in Ondo town motor park by men of the security outfit while conveying the human parts to Lagos.
