The immediate past Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Adamu Abdu-Kafarati is dead. The jurist who retired from the bench on July 25, 2019, died on Thursday February 25, after observing the evening prayer in his Abuja home. A statement released by his family reads “Innalillahi Wa inna ilaihi Rajiun.It is with deep sorry that I announced the passing away of our elder statesman, Hon Justice Abdul Kafarati the immediate-past Chief Justice of High Court of the Federation and former Bauchi State Attorney General which occurred this night (Thursday) after magrib Salat at Abuja.” May his soul rest in peace.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has renewed calls for devolution of power between the Federal Government and 36 states in the country. Popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Gumi, has said for insecurity in Nigeria to be tackled, the Federal government needs to consider giving bandits willing to make peace ‘blanket amnesty’.
