Former US President, Barack Obama has joined other leaders all over the world to wish his successor, Donald Trump recovery from COVID-19.Trump had announced that he and his wife, Melanie tested positive for the virus. Following the development, he was later airlifted to the military hospital in Maryland where he will be spending some days while receiving medical attention; after his health worsened since his announcement via twitter on Friday.
The Former President, in a tweet via his Twitter account on Friday said he and his wife pray for a quick recovery for the President and his wife, Melanie Trump.
Obama stating, “Michelle and I hope that the President, First Lady, and all those affected by the deadly virus around the country are getting the care they need and are on the path to a quick recovery.It is obvious that we are in the midst of a big political battle right now, and while there’s a lot at stake let’s also remember that we are all Americans.We are all human and we want everyone to be healthy, no matter our party,” he said.
Russian President, Vladimir Putin and other world leaders have expressed their “sincere support” to his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump. Putin wished Trump and his wife a speedy recovery and expressed support at this difficult moment, ( News Agency of Nigeria) NAN reports.
In his message to Trump, Putin said: “I am sure that your inherent vitality, good spirits and optimism will help you cope with the dangerous virus,” according to the Kremlin statement.
Also reacting, Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said “I sincerely hope that they will overcome the quarantine period without problems and regain their health as soon as possible,” Erdogan writes on Twitter. Similarly, Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in a Facebook post, also wished the couple “overcome that period swiftly to resume the U.S. efforts to combat the virus at the international level.”
Though the U.S President and first lady both tested positive for the virus, their 14-year old son Baron Trump has tested negative.
