The National Body of Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI) ably headed by Dr (Amb.) Ademario Emanuel express her dissatisfaction over the new federal government stands not to reopen Nigerian schools until further notice.
The president of the group made this know through press release sent to Decency Global News.
In the statement, the group described the inconsiderate decision as an ugly and a deliberate taunting act to drive out at least 5minuit madness in every Nigerian Youths.
The group futher stressed that, giving quick reference to the recent #EndSARS protest that got the attention of many super power countries, I am afraid to tell Mr President that this decision if not reviewed and backpedaled ASAP would sprite up a more deadly and unfortunate insurrection Nigeria as a country will ever sadly recorded.
Amidst this trying time of global pandemic hitherto, the NEC and the National Assembly have held series of meetings and nothing happened, then academic enviroment as well as group of intellectuals should not be an exception towards enjoying the same privileges.
Needless to say is the fact that youths are always at pivot point that suffers this degrading governmental policies the more. We therefore say enough!
Let me swiftly seize this medium to reawaken the consciousness of the Federal Government towards making a purposeful, decisive and holistic approach in finding a lasting solution over security threats in all sphere of our dear Nation.
Let me also use this medium to suggest that the federal government uses, direct and channel 777,000 SPW workers across the federation to our government basic and secondary schools so as to serve as Grassroot Task Force against Covid-19 and to further fastened containment of the novel virus.
On a final note, we conscientiously believed that our university students are matured in mind and should be able to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and in full compliance with Covid19 safety protocols.
We therefore call for prompt review of this decision and quick reopening of our schools.
Our doors shall always be open for dialogue, should there be a need for cross fertilization of ideas on safety and precautionary measure for safe reopening of our schools, statement concluded.
