Hundreds of loyalists of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau last weekend held special prayers to celebrate the triumph of the former governor of Kano State at the Appeal Court.
The Court of Appeal, Kano Division, had last week discharged the former Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau in a N950 million money laundering linked to him and two others by the EFCC.
Senator Ibrahim Shekarau was arraigned alongside Aminu Bashir Wali and Mansur Ahmad on May 24, 2018, for allegedly collecting the sum of N950 million from the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Deizani Alison Maduekwe to distribute to PDP members in Kano during the 2015 presidential election.
The prayer session which attracted all living Shekarau political appointee between 2003-2011 when he was governor attended the prayer session that took place at Hafsat Hall in his multi million naira mansion.
Sule Yau Sule, senior Aide to Shekarau told INDEPENDENT on Monday that “Most Commissioners during Oga’s administration were there, and these include Garba Yusuf, Musa Suleman Shanono, Malam Zumbur, a number of former advisers and local government chairmen.
Other VIPat the prayer session was Director General Shekarau Campaign Organisation, Dr Umar Manstaleta was also there.
He said Senator Shekarau who was currently on national assignment in Dubai was unavoidably absent
In a soul touching sermon delivered by Ustaz Alhaji Zumbur described Senator Shekarau’s travail in the hands of the law as a trial from Allah.
The Cleric therefore called on loyalists to accept such trial in good faith, as he enjoined them to remain grateful to Allah for seeing him through .
