Odion Ighalo, former Super Eagles forward, is reportedly linked with a loan move to Manchester United.

In their bid to search for a replacement for injured Marcus Rashford, the Shanghai Shenhua player, has become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s target for the striking position, according to Sky Sports.

The 29-year-old former English Premier League star — who had plied his trade with Watford — has two years left on his contract with the Chinese Super League (CSL) side.

The Red Devils have also considered various short-term solutions, including Edinson Cavani, Dries Mertens, Mario Mandzukic and Algerian striker Islam Slimani.

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) bronze medalist scored 17 goals in 55 Premier League appearances for the Hornets before securing a move to CSL in 2017.

After their 2-0 defeat to Burnley at Old Trafford in midweek, Manchester United gaffer had indicated that the club are in need of “quality” signings, with Paul Pogba as well as Rashford currently sidelined.
