Kogi State and indeed the entire people of Nigeria have been thrown into mourning on Sunday following the death of Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, SAN, who is also one of the most senior lawyers in Nigeria.
Late Ibrahim is commonly revered as the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria; of northern extraction. The cause of his death has not been disclosed by the family as at the time of this report.
The late senior lawyer before his death has served Nigeria in different capacity. He served during the military regime of Muhammadu Buhari in the 1980s as Nigeria Minister Transportation. He was also the Attorney General and Minister of Justice under the regimes of Sani Abacha and Abdulsalam Abubakar respectively.
Until his death, Abdullahi Ibrahim, SAN was a native of Okaba of Ankpa Local Government Area of of Kogi State.
He was said to have been called to the English Bar in 1963 and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar Association in 1964.
He was later conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria as early as 1982.
